Why do I need to carry it out?

If your building has a lightning protection system installed, in order to comply with the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and your insurance company requirements, it must be professionally maintained “in order to minimise danger, so far as is reasonably practicable.”

The recommended testing interval for lightning protection systems is annually, as documented in BS 6651 and BS-EN 62305.

IQ Electrical Ltd will carry out a comprehensive test and inspection of your lightning protection system in accordance with the above standards.

What we do:

We provide electrical services such as periodic inspections and electrical safety certificates in Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Durham, Ashington and across the UK. Our engineers are well acquainted with the importance of signing in and out when on site, observing all site PPE requirements and adhering to our risk assessment and method statement which are issued prior to work commencing.

Following the test and inspection, a Certificate of Inspection is issued, along with a schematic drawing showing every earth termination position.

All of our lightning protection system testing is carried out in accordance with BS 6651:1999 or BS EN 62305 – whichever is appropriate to the installation – ensuring full compliance with the relevant standards and insurance company conditions should an incident ever occur.

For a free quotation, to book your lightning protection system testing or to discuss your requirements, please give us a call today. We will also be more than happy to explain the process of any of our additional services including thermal imaging.
