PAT Testing

Why do I need to carry it out?

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 state that an employer or landlord must ensure that electrical equipment is maintained in good order and inspected as necessary to ensure it is maintained in a safe condition.

In order to comply, a formal inspection and test of the equipment must be carried out and records of results must be retained.

Although many clients insist on an annual duration for PAT testing, durations can be extended to two or three years as a risk-based assessment which can be used depending on site conditions and frequency of use of the equipment.

What we do:

We will apply the appropriate tests to your equipment/appliances, allocating each item a unique asset code corresponding with an entry on the equipment register which we will produce. A discreet label will be applied to the item with the asset code and ‘next inspection due’ date.

The equipment register will contain individual item names, asset numbers and test results along with a pass or fail assessment.

Following the first inspection, we will advise next inspection dates either annually or every two to three years following a risk assessment if requested.

We are NICEIC approved contractors and as national service providers, we can carry out PAT testing, periodic inspections and provide electrical safety certificates for clients in Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Durham, Ashington and anywhere in the UK. Our services also include fixed wire testing and power quality testing
