Why do I need to carry it out?

The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 places a “duty of care” on employers and landlords to maintain electrical systems to prevent danger where otherwise it may exist. The only way of ensuring your duties are performed and adequate records are kept is by carrying out an EICR Test and Inspection in accordance with BS 7671 (The IET Wiring Regulations).

By following this practice, you can be sure that your obligations have been met under the Health and Safety at Work Act so far as electrical safety is concerned, and more importantly that your staff, visitors, patients, buildings and possessions are safe. Furthermore, having regular tests professionally undertaken means that your insurance company will pay out in the event of a claim arising from an electrical fault or fire.

What we do:

The NICEIC approved team at IQ Electrical Ltd are professionals in providing safe and efficient EICR testing that meets all statutory requirements to clients nationwide.

As national service providers, we offer our services such as EICR fixed wire testing and electrical safety certificates to clients in Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Gateshead, Middlesbrough, Durham, Ashington and throughout the UK, meaning one account and one point of contact regardless of the number of sites.

We can carry out a free initial survey of your electrical installation to enable us to compile a bespoke, cost-effective testing package and quotation to ensure full compliance with The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and all current health and safety requirements.

Our engineers are fully trained to carry out as unobtrusive a service as possible and if preferred, testing can be undertaken out of normal hours on any circuits in use through the normal working week.

We are fully conversant with signing in procedures, site PPE requirements etc. and our engineers are fully uniformed and will adhere to our risk assessments and method statements provided for each site.

Following the inspection, a NICEIC computer-generated Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is produced, detailing (if found) any items of non-compliance requiring attention.

We can (if requested) produce a quotation for defect rectification, or a third party or in-house maintenance operative can attend to this work.
